I've just moved into a new place with a sizeable garden. We all know gardens in Auckland in spring, wild and out of control! Luckily this garden comes with a nice shed, but inside: nothing, just empty hooks where the tools should be. So, what should I do?
I could head down to the local big box hardware store and pull out the credit card: ladder, line trimmer, chainsaw, waterblaster, lawnmower, leaf blower, extension cords, battery packs. I could take it a step further with a mulcher and a trailer, pole saws for the high branches. I don't even want to know what that's going to cost, on top of the all the other moving-in expenses. Projecting forward a few years, this equipment won't see much use after the first clean-up, but it will look fantastic in the garden shed. Even worse if I chose the budget options, it will probably be broken and decayed in a few years, and not much fun to use to begin with.
Or, I could get onto Sharehub, find what I need, as long as I need it, for a fraction of the cost, and meet some friendly neighbours along the way!
I think this garden shed could also look fantastic with a brewing set up instead of unused garden tools.
